The essentials

1. Will you personally shoot my wedding? Studios sometimes send associates.
2. What's your backup plan if you're ill? Listen for a real network, not "that's never happened."
3. How many weddings do you shoot per weekend? One is the right answer.
4. Can I see two full galleries? Not highlights — full deliveries, ideally one from a dark venue.
5. What's the delivery timeline? 6–10 weeks is standard; get it in the contract.

The fine print

Ask about hours included, overtime rates, second shooter, RAW policy, print rights, travel fees, and how many edited images you'll receive (400–800 is typical for a full day).
